Janine Freeman, RD, LD, CDE

Janine Freeman, RD, LD, CDE, has over 20 years experience in the diabetes and nutrition arena. She has written for numerous lay and professional journals, and has spoken at local, regional, and national meetings on various nutrition and diabetes topics.

Janine is actively involved in several professional diabetes organizations. She currently serves on the board of the American Diabetes Association and is the book review editor for The Diabetes Educator, a journal of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has served as Chair of the Diabetes Care & Education (DCE) dietetic practice group of the American Dietetic Association and recently as an associate editor of Diabetes Forecast magazine.

As a diabetes educator, program manager, and nutrition specialist, Janine has worked with multidisciplinary teams to improve the lives of people with diabetes in the Atlanta, Georgia area. She joined Abbott Diabetes Care in April 2007 as a Clinical Science Manager where she works with the healthcare community to share scientific research and continues to utilize her skills toward the advancement and implementation of diabetes technology to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
