Judy Kohn, RN, BSN, CDE, is a diabetes educator with expertise in patient care, diabetes education program development, public speaking and training programs for healthcare professionals. Judy joined Abbott Diabetes Care in 2001 after a distinguished 28-year career in diabetes management. During that time, she witnessed the dawn of home blood glucose monitoring and insulin pump therapy, and was the study coordinator for various research studies of oral agents, insulin, insulin delivery devices, and glucose monitors.
During the previous 16 years, Judy was Program Coordinator and Diabetes Educator for the Diabetes Center at John Muir Medical Center in Northern California. Judy is recognized for her expertise in medication dosage adjustment and disease management, and has been a sought-after public speaker. She has presented CE programs nationwide as faculty for the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and the Diabetes Education Society and also as an independent consultant. A home study course which she developed, "Understanding Insulin Management," has been published by NurseWeek.
Judy is currently the Diabetes Education Manager at Abbott Diabetes Care, where she continues to apply her diabetes knowledge and clinical perspective to both development and training for new technologies to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
