Why is it taking so long to find a cure for diabetes? Are they concentrating more on managing diabetes control? I think progress is very slow.

Finding a Cure

I know it must seem like the emphasis is mostly on controlling diabetes, rather than finding a cure, because there is so much information available about managing diabetes.

However, contrary to what you may think, there is extensive research to finding the cause as well as the cure. Part of the problem is that there is no easy answer to what causes diabetes-and each type of diabetes probably has multiple causes. For more information on the different types of diabetes as well as the possible causes, refer to the "Causes of Diabetes" related question listed at right.

On the right side of this page are other related questions as well as links to several websites with good research information. In addition, most of these sites offer a free e-newsletter to keep you informed on research developments.

I hope you will be able to conclude from this information that many people throughout the world are dedicating their time to searching not only for better ways to manage diabetes, but also to finding the cause and the cure for diabetes.
